Hi! I’m Armand David (aka division6). After 10 years of being overweight and doing very little exercise, I’ve managed to sustain a year of weightloss and fitness training to a point where I’m actually enjoying running as a pasttime. A number of friends and colleagues have provided inspiration and insight, and I’m writing this blog to chart my path to the New Forest Half Marathon, which I’m running in September for the World Cancer Research Fund. You can sponsor me here, and find my other home on the web here. I work for the PR firm Brands2Life in London, where I worked with my co-author James for a fair few years before he moved onto pastures new. Why division6? Here’s the answer.
My running kit: New Balance 850s/859s (and that series since about 5 years ago), Nike & Puma ‘dri-fit’ running kit, generally masked underneath regular cotton-wear, Runkeeper GPS + iPhone.
My personal bests: 5k – 28.53, 10k – 60.06, half-marathon – 2.16.30.
My race reports: Beat the Banana 2010
I am James Coyle. I recently completed my first ever London Marathon and found the whole thing surprisingly enjoyable. Have been running for a few years now, but training is going to continue over the summer and I will be competing in a couple of triathlons in the next couple of months, with the Great North Run my next serious race. I also just entered the ballot for 2011 London Marathon – so fingers crossed, training for that will start after the GNR.
Great writing!
Drop me a line if you’d like to try a review copy of Roadbud – I think you’ll like it.
